Statehouse - Ohio Technology Takes Flight Day

09/22/2025

Columbus, OH

AFRS was honored to be invited to the Ohio Statehouse for the 2025 Ohio Technology Takes Flight Day.

Our firefighter drone pilots showcased our latest public safety services designed to enhance community safety and protect vital infrastructure. Over the past year, our team has been field-testing mobile Counter-UAS technology solutions in Southern Ohio. These systems allow us to electronically monitor the skies and pinpoint the exact location of unauthorized drone pilots with remarkable accuracy.

At today’s event, we demonstrated our newest permanent and portable units, which strengthen safety plans for public events, infrastructure protection, and airport security.

We were proud to stand alongside other leaders in the drone industry, including:

  • Bowling Green

  • Butler Tech

  • Federal Aerospace Institute

  • Kent State

  • …and many other outstanding teams.

Since 2021, AFRS has been providing shared emergency services under ORC 9.60, operating in compliance with NFPA 2400 standards for safe and efficient unmanned aircraft use. Our progress is made possible through responsible corporate giving and the support of the public.

We are grateful to be recognized as a leader among so many great organizations.
