A local farmer was searching for their calf that had turned up missing in a corn field.
AFRS was on scene in less than 15 minutes and located the missing calf in 10 minutes and 44 seconds.
Once the calf was located, the ground team was provided the exact coordinates so they could navigate their way using a consumer grade cellphone mapping tool.
Public outreach like this helps the general public realize the power of this amazing technology and how it can be used to keep first responders safe, aid in search/rescue, and perform other tasks that simply help out your fellow neighbor.
