AFRS Assists in Missing Child Search in Clinton County, Ohio
AFRS was honored to support the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol during the search for a missing child in Clarksville, Ohio. Using our thermal imaging, public-safety-grade drones, AFRS provided aerial support to law enforcement on the evening of the incident.

19:58 – Sheriff’s Office requests drone assistance.
20:00 – Estimated time of arrival provided.
20:17 – Arrived in the area and began locating law enforcement units in wooded areas.
20:19 – Located responding units.
20:21 – Determined initial launch site was unsafe due to low visibility and tree cover.
20:23 – Relocated to a safe area; began thermal drone flights to search surrounding areas for body heat signatures.
20:50 – Relocated to a new area off Nauvoo Rd. after a possible sighting.
20:55 – Arrived on scene and learned the child had been spotted by passer-by. SO returned child to residence.
21:00 – Departed the scene.
This incident demonstrates the value of shared emergency robotic services. Certified firefighters and licensed drone pilots worked seamlessly with law enforcement, enhancing public safety with specialized technology and training.
