AFRS units were dispatched to Ross County to aid a family in locating their missing relative.
Two AFRS units were deployed and designated to scan different areas. One unit focused on scanning the roadways and the last known travel direction, while the other unit searched the state park grounds.
Fortunately, the missing individual was located many miles away in a nearby community.
Using firefighter drone pilots for missing persons enables us to cover extensive land and road areas without causing traffic disruptions, endangering volunteers on hazardous roads, or requiring assistance from various jurisdictions for the search.
The efficiency of drone operations allows us to scan approximately 55 miles of roadway within about 4 hours. This demonstrates an exceptional utilization of resources in search and rescue missions.
AFRS Run #er: 24-79
